Community Education offers teen driver’s education in cooperation with Tim and Catrina Roth of Mille Lacs Driving Instruction (MLDI). The goal of MLDI is not only to have students pass their driving test, but to help them become safe drivers. All instructors are licensed by the MN Dept. of Public Safety. Classroom instruction prepares the student to take the MN permit test. Visit their website for further information.

Save 10% on your Auto Insurance. The MN Highway Safety and Research Center at St. Cloud State Univ. developed this program, specifically for Senior Drivers. It consists of 4 hours of lecture, discussion and educational videos. There are no written or behind the wheel tests. Upon completion of the course, drivers over the age of 55 are eligible for a 10% discount on their auto insurance. Topics covered include: Habits and Attitudes, Tires and Traction, Signs, etc. Please make payments to MLCE prior to the class date. Instructor, John Cavanaugh.

How To Get The Most Produce From Your Raised Garden Bed
Raised bed gardening is a simple technique that can improve the health and productivity of your garden. Raised beds have better soil structure and drainage, allowing the soil to warm up earlier in the season, giving you a head start on Spring. We have three Master Gardeners ready to demonstrate what to plant, when to plant, how to space, and how to harvest in order to get the most out of your raised bed-whether it be on the ground or in a container. Join us if you love gardening, there’s always something to learn!

Corrugated Tin Raised Garden Beds
(kits available for purchase)
Here’s the chance to make your own raised garden bed, just like the ones in the Community Garden & Orchard located next to the bus garage. You’ll get hands-on experience and tried and true practices as we build a bed or two or three during the class. Don’t have materials or tools to make one at home? We’ll have kits made for you to partially assemble, then finish at home. These kits will fit in the back of a pickup and are approximately 3ft. x8 ft. You’ll only need a drill to finish the project at home.
