Students in Woods and Wildlife got the opportunity to go to Hawkridge in Duluth, MN on Friday, October 2nd. During their trip, they learned all about the type of research that is conducted at Hawkridge, how to identify birds during flight, and they got to hike and do some birding themselves! Pictured is the group of students who got to attend and Moises Morales who got the opportunity to release a Sharp Shinned Hawk after it received an identification band from the researchers.
The sophomore and junior class visited Lake Superior College on Tuesday, October 6th to learn all about the healthcare field. Students received tote bags and visited booths to learn about the various career paths they could take after high school or college. The students also got to partake in various activities such as performing CPR on medical manikins, try on high-frequency chest wall Oscillation vests, and tour the inside of an ambulance.

What a powerful way to close our Grandparents Day “Children of the World” celebration on October 2nd!
All of our K–6 students came together for one final song, reminding us that although we may come from different places, cultures, and traditions, we are connected by kindness, love, family, and community.
A beautiful moment with our students—and one we won’t soon forget.
We are the world. We are Moose Lake.

🚨 Carlton County 911 Presentation for First Graders! 🚒🚑🚓
Our first graders will be participating in a special Carlton County 911 presentation on Thursday, October 8th, during the mid to late morning at Moose Lake Elementary! As part of this hands-on learning experience, families and community members may notice emergency vehicles at the school—and possibly even a helicopter.
Please do not be alarmed! These vehicles are part of a planned educational experience designed to help our first graders learn about emergency services, safety, and the important people who help keep our community safe.
We’re excited for this memorable learning opportunity for our students! 💙🫎
