What is ECFE-Early Childhood Family Education?
ECFE is a place for parents and their young children under the age of 5.  It is a place where you can meet new friends, share the joys and challenges of parenting while children have a safe and supportive environment to play with others. The mission of Moose Lake ECFE is to support and strengthen families and parents – a child's first and most important teacher.
What does a typical ECFE class include?
Most ECFE classes meet once a week and include:           
  • Parent-Child Time ~ families explore a classroom filled with developmentally appropriate play and learning activities planned by a licensed early childhood teacher.
  • Parent Time ~ parents meet with a licensed parent educator to share experiences and information about child development and parenting techniques.
  • Children’s Time ~ children learn with the licensed early childhood teacher and paraprofessional and practice social skills as they interact with each other.
What Classes are offered at Moose Lake ECFE?

Lunch BunchThursdays from 10:45am -12:15pm, ages 2 - 5 years old.  Class dates are Sept 28 - Dec 14, no class on Oct 19 and Nov 23. Bring a cold lunch. See how the world of your 2, 3, 4 & 5 year old is expanding.  Play and learn together through parent/child activities, circle time, music, stories, snack and parent discussion. There is a new adventure each week. Enhance your child’s development through purposeful play and your parenting skills with helpful discussions about behavior, development, challenges, and more.

Cost ~ $50, free for all School Readiness and Mini Moose Families. Sliding fee for other families.  No one will be turned away for the inability to pay.   

Learn and Play  ~ Thursdays from 8:30-10:00am, ages 8 months -3yrs old.  Class dates are Sept 28- Dec 14, no class Oct 19 and Nov 23. Mixed-age group! Your one, two or three year old is using new words, finding out how things work, and learning how to play with other children. Channel their energy in positive ways! Enjoy this exciting time with your child through a class with other parents and educators by laughing and learning together. .  Cost ~ $50, free for all School Readiness and Mini Moose families.  Sliding fee for other families.  No one will be turned away for the inability to pay.  

ABC's & 123's  ~ Tuesdays from 9:30-11am, ages 8 months -3yrs old.   Class dates are Sept 26 - Dec 12, no class Oct 17 and Nov 21. Come enjoy a Tuesday ECFE class with other parents and children in a mixed age class. Learn new alphabet and counting activities, make new friends and catch up with old friends. Watch as your child becomes more confident in their social skills and you learn that you are not the only parent who is second guessing this parenting thing. Cost ~ $50, free for all School Readiness and Mini Moose families.  Sliding fee for other families.  No one will be turned away for the inability to pay.  
Friday Fun Days:  ~ Fridays from 10:00-11:00am for ages birth - 5 yrs old, Sept 22 - Oct 13.  Need some time to get errands done?  Need a coffee break with a friend? Have your child come and play in our new multi purpose room while you enjoy an hour of time to get things done, have a cup of coffee in our parent room or stay in the room and play.  Relax while your child is having a great time learning new activities that will encourage gross motor skills.  Cost $5 per child, no scholarships or free classes for this day.  

Advisory Board 
~ We are looking for adults who want to be invested in our Early Childhood Programs at Moose Lake Schools.  Our advisory board is a perfect way to do this.  If you are willing to serve on this board please let Julie know. We meet 3 times a year and need you to help us make decisions on classes and programing.  First meeting will be Monday September 25 at 5pm.  Sibling Care will be provided, but RSVP the number of children needing care.

**Scholarships are available for all classes.
**If already enrolled in Mini Moose or School Readiness all ECFE classes are free! Except Friday Fun Days.
