Medication Policy

Moose Lake School Medication Policy

Medications are encouraged to be given at home whenever possible. There are certain circumstances, when medication needs to be given during the school day. For students to receive medication at school, there are requirements that need to be followed.

There is no medication available to students including tylenol, tums, cough drops.

Prescription Medications

*Parent/Guardian must provide a medication consent form signed by the parent and the student's healthcare provider, authorizing the administration of the medication at school.

*Parent/Guardian must provide prescription medication to the school in the original pharmacy container clearly labeled for the student.

Epi pens, asthma inhalers, migraine medication, daily medications are all examples of prescription medications.

Non prescription medications

*Parent/Guardian must provide non-prescription medications to the school nurse' office in the original container.

A prescription from your Health Care Provider must accompany the non prescription medication.

Medication cannot and will not be dispensed if brought to school in a baggie and/or no note is sent with the medication.

Non prescription medications are not encouraged unless your child has chronic headaches, heart burn, ear aches, etc.
